In this edition of "You've got to be kidding me!!!!!!" we take a look at Johnny Knox Punt return from this past weekend.
This play has to be one of the best punt returns of all time. What makes it so unique is that the Packers punt team all knew that their punter was going to kick it left, but Devin Hester's such a threat that they all go to the right to Hester. With all the attention on Hester, Johnny Knox is able to basically walk into the endzone. Then you have to ask. Jarrett Bush (the Packers gunner on the left side) has to see Johnny Knox line up to block him and think something is up. But the travesty is that it never counted because of a phantom holding call. Bears CB and special team ace Corey Graham was called for holding. If you watch the the video clip again and focus on the left side you'll see Graham make contact with #24 Jarrett Bush. That is where the "supposive" holding call was made. To me that was a horrible call. That contact even if he held him didn't even affect Bush. He wasn't slowed down or even knocked off his path. Its just a shame that one of the best special teams plays in recent memory, doesn't even really exist.
Let's hope that Bears Special Teams Coordinator Dave Toub has something else up his sleeve for later this year.
